  • TO HELP ACHIEVE THE AIMS AND OBJECTS, ALL MEMBERS MUST JOIN A LOCAL COMMITTEE. SEE THE CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS.
  • IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT ALL MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN ONE OR TWO OF THE SPECIAL INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEES AS WELL.  (See list of Committees Below).
  • PASSPORT SIZE PHOTOS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR IDENTIFICATION CARDS. PHOTOS CAN BE SENT LATER.
  • THE NEW OFFICIAL ID SYSTEM MAY REQUIRE FINGERPRINTS IN THE NEAR FUTURE. PLEASE SUPPORT FUNDRAISING FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE SYSTEM. DONATIONS ARE WELCOME.
  • SUBMIT TWO COPIES OF APPLICATION WITH YOUR ORIGINAL SIGNATURE ON EACH – ONE FOR LOCAL AND ONE FOR HEADQUARTERS RECORDS.
  • LOCALS MUST SUBMIT MEMBERS’ APPLICATION, FEES AND WEEKLY DUES TO HQ. SEE OTHER CONSTITUTIONAL REQUIREMENTS.
  • YOU MAY SUBMIT FORMS TO HEADQUARTERS DIRECTLY TO ENSURE YOU ARE ON THE EWF, INC. INTERNATIONAL REGISTRY AT HQ ESPECIALLY IF YOUR LOCAL IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY OR IF THERE IS NO LOCAL IN YOUR AREA. WE WILL HELP BRING TOGETHER OTHER MEMBERS IN YOUR AREA TO FORM A LOCAL OR WE WILL DIRECT YOU TO THE NEAREST LOCAL.
  • FEEL FREE TO CONTACT THE HEADQUARTERS TO ENSURE THAT YOUR NAME IS ON THE INTERNATIONAL REGISTRY AND YOU THEREFORE QUALIFY FOR ALL BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP.

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

CONSTITUTION & BYLAWS  ARTICLE  X  –  BENEFITS

Section 1. Benefits: All financial members of the Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated, shall be entitled to the benefits hereafter mentioned:

(a)    All applications for help shall be referred to the Sick Committee, which may recommend aid according to the circumstances of the case.

(b)   The Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated, shall attempt to make or find employment for its members who make application for such employment.

(c)    Death: The Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated, shall establish a burial fund; each member of the Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated, in order to obtain the benefits of this burial fund shall have subscribed to the fund for at least one (1) year and shall be in good financial standing in the organization. The subscription to the burial fund shall be $.25 per month. Upon conclusive proof of death, the Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated, shall subscribe from this fund the sum of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars towards the funeral expense of the deceased. Any member who fails to subscribe to the burial fund for three months shall be unfinancial in this fund and shall not be entitled to the benefits of this fund Any member who is unfinancial in the Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated, shall be classified as unfinancial in the burial fund. The Financial Secretary of the local shall collect from each member monthly the subscription to the burial fund.

Based on the Constitution and By-laws of our Organization, the following are some of the benefits that The Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated is expected to provide for its members, and some that it may elect to provide based on its registration, the social and economic issues of the times and the character of the organization as a charitable organ. With an active and energized organization, members are encouraged to work with the Locals and Headquarters to attain our aims and objects and provide these services. If you have the skills and ability to help supply any of the following services at home and abroad, please volunteer or submit an employment application.

  • The updated numbers are based on multiples (ratio) of the original 1937 plan to make it more relevant to today’s economic reality.
  • If you paid $0.25 cents monthly you received $100 (1937 plan).
  • Now pay 4 times 25 cents and get 4 times $100 = $400
  • Pay 8 times 25 cents and get 8 times $100 = $800.00
  • And so on…. More details available on request.
  • With the advancement of intra-state and international banking, plus the Internet payment portals, Members may be able to submit their payments to headquarters directly. Accepting suggestions from members.
